Bottle on 712 to Edinburgh, thanks to Doddy, 24/02/23. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a beige cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is dried fruits, dusty oak, spice, toffee, barrel tones. Taste comprises sweet malts, chocolate, brown sugar melt, toffee, light barrel. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Okay impy ... sips easy for the big 15% but overly sweet and lacking complexity for me.

9/XII/22 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ home, BB: 9/XII/31 (2022-1730)
Pretty clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: good roast, sweet impression, caramel, sugary, dried fruits, alcohol is very noticeable, soft roast, dark chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very sweet and sugary start, lots of alcohol, lots of raisins, way too sweet, Madeira, port, very oxidized, don’t like it. Aftertaste: more oxidative notes, sugary, caramel, port, alcohol, way too sugary and sweet, this is undrinkable, don’t like it at all. Even after deliberately waiting for quite some time before trying this (1 year after bottling is my guess).

Cream foam for short seconds over brown-rimmed black beer. Sweet, chocolate, alcohol, faint roast, booze. Very sweet, bit woody, liquorice, dried fruit and raisins. Bit of vanilla, ripe banana, plums, fusels' galore and a bit of incense. Furious alcoholheat - though not raw. Velvety, filthily rich. Impressive bombshell - but just after the Viven Barley wine it seems a bit unpolished. Txs to Stef!

0.33 l bottle shared with Ogi at Ambasada. Zagreb. Dark brown, medium brownish head. Sugary, lots of dried fruit, chocolate, molasses. Hidden alcohol. Slick, thick, chocolate liqueur, oak, wallnut, sugar. A bit sweet, sophisticated, oily. Fruity and nutty flavour. Strong. Moderate finish.

It's like a cheap porto from the Aldi. First sip is Okay... But then it hits... You're drinking sweet excess wine.

Pours a clear, very dark brown to black. Red glow. Small tanned head. Scent is fairly mild, some roast, mild PX. Rum is more hidden. Taste is sweet, full, roasty, elegant - yet noticable booze. PX, chocolate, mild on the rum. Sugary. Medium body (which is very thin for the style and ABV) , low carbo. Nice, for sure ! love the intensity of the PX barrel.
