0.5l bottle from karstadt in charlottenburg, 1.19€. pours a slightly hazy dark chestnut with a medium tan head and some lacing. aroma of toasted malts, rye bread, sour milk, toffee, berries. flavour is very sweet, bready, caramelly, chocolaty, slightly nutty. sticky mouthfeel, flat carbonation, sweet and slightly bitter finish. not the best störtebeker.

Bottle. Clear dark brown/red with an ok beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, grains and some earthy hops. Taste of caramel, brown sugar, malts, grains and some more sugar. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation. An East German Porter that is by design too sweet for my taste but it isn’t half as vile as I remembered it to be.

Clear deep amber brown colour, small frothy tan head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Sweet malty aroma, roasted, brown sugar, caramel, sugar syrup. Flavour heavy sweet, caramel, chocolate, sugar. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, sweet finish, hint of bitterness, slightly roasted. Very sweet indeed, tastes like a Dutch Oud Bruin certainly not as a Porter.

Bottle at Zum Alten Fritz, Rostock, 17/07/15. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is light roast, coco pops, toffee, light spice, dark malt. Taste comprises sweet malt, Chocolate, raisens, dark fruit, brown sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok porter if a touch sweet but not as bad as the scores suggest !
