Pours a very dark brown, almost black color with very low carbonation resulting in a very tiny beige colored head. Roasty malts, some chocolate notes and some shampoo smell also present. Taste starts sweet, slightly roasty with some coffee notes. Medium bitterness in the finish, and some more coffee notes in the aftertaste. The taste is not that bad, though nothing special.

Aroma of medium intensity, with some fruit, but mostly spicy phenolics. The flavour is also dry and spicy - no traditional chocolaty sweetness, with a moderate bitterness that blends well with the spice.

Many thanks to CH-303 for this bottle! The beer starts mild-sweetish, nice roasted malty, a bit sticky. Easy to drink but deep. Nice roasted, nearly burned malt, fresh bitter hops, very smooth. The aftertaste is intense-roasty, not too sweet, hints of nuts and burned caramel. Nicely bittered, a very great round brew! 14/13/14/14

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, beige to tan head. Dark malty aroma, hints of dark chocolate, cocoa, a touch of tobacco. Taste is dark malty with hints of dark chocolate, cocoa, cautious hints of liquorice. Not outstanding, but quite nice.

Keg @ St.Urho’s portteripäivät. Near black, lasting creamy, brown head. Looks great. Roastedness, chocolate and oatmeal in aroma. Heavy stuff. Roasted malt, ash, licorice in flavor. Long roasted finish with dark chocolate. Full bodied. This should be enjoyed in small doses.

(Keg at St. Urho’s Pub Portteri- ja Stout-päivät ’14) The beer poured almost black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate and hops. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, roasted malts, chocolate, mildly coffee and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty, sweet and bitter. A nice roasty brew.

From my backlog. Shared with andregoncalves. Black colour with a light beige head, with medium lasting and light lacework. Aroma has notes of coffee beans, black chocolate and slightly licorice. Flavor is roasty, some toasty notes, slightly wooden notes blended with ashes and coconut traces joined with coffee beans. The final is strong black coffee and licorice. Creamy and dense mouthfeel.
