Dark brown color with small but nice beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts. Taste is liqorice, more coffee and dark chocolate, dry finish. A bit watery, as many Stouts, but it’s not too bad. Not much of an aftertaste. Carbonation is smooth but higher than expected. Okay.

330ml bottle from Drinks of the World, Winterthur. Drunk in the garden. Pours black with fast receding thin head, coca cola appearance. Malty dark treacle aroma. Taste is malt, light liquorice, thin molasses and light roast with a dry finish. Perhaps not at its best.

Als ich die Flasche das erste Mal in der Hand hielt und Irish Stout las, dachte ich erst dass sich da wieder wer an einer Guinness-Kopie versucht. Da ich gerne das irische Nationalgetränk mag, schlug ich gleich zu. Nach dem ersten Schluck dann die Überraschung: Mit Guiness hat das Bier soviel zu tun wie Nüchternheit und Irlamd oder England mit gutem Essen: nix. Anstatt einer chremigen Note wird man von einer Woge Bitterschokoladenaroma konfrontiert, und zwar die mit 99% Kakaoanteil. Wenn man das mag: Bitte zugreifen. Für andere Aromen bleibt leider kein Platz. Meine Empfehlung: Dazu ein Glas Milch trinken und eine Scheibe Brot essen - erspart jedes Nutellabrot.

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Roasty dark malty aroma, hints of black chocolate, burnt coffee, herbal hoppy overtones. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, hints of dark chocolate, some coffee, herbal hoppy overtones. I would take this as an Dry Stout - not bad.
