Cask at Barley Mow, Portsmouth. Aroma is fruity, grainy, low key. Opaque golden brown. Thin foamy translucent white head. Medium bitter. Grainy. Twiggy. Sour fruit edge. Tobacco. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat-soft carbonation. Long dry finish. Not overly exciting but a bit going on.

Handpull cask at the Prince of Wales, Newport, IOW. Dark reddish brown, tranlucent, with a small beige head. Man, that's a nice-looking pint. Woody aroma, very malt heavy but not a lot to it. Bittersweet but more sweet than bitter, with notes of woodsmoke and cola nut before a slightly astringent finish. Body is really thin. Hmmm. All in all a bit ho-hum although it's certainly drinkable.
