This beer has nice fruity and spicy notes from the Belgian yeast used in fermentation. The chocolate and raisin flavors are well-balanced with a lingering dry finish. Excellent on a cold winter night and paired with heartier dishes like stews and roasts. Also excellent with chocolate desserts.

2 oz. sample draft at the brew pub in Santa Rosa, California. The pour is a brown copper, lightly hazed with a small off white head. The aroma is nutty toast, smoke dried fig and a faint roast earthiness. The taste has ester yeast spice, cinnamon, malt caramel sweetness, nutty, some raisin, all flavors melded well. The palate is medium bodied, bright carbonation and a dry finish.

Bottle from a trade. Pours a hazy deep chestnut brown with a thick tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has lots of dark fruit with some notes of sweet chocolate and sweet bread backed by a hint of flora. Flavor start with light fruit and flora. The finish has notes of smooth chocolate, sweet grains and light yeast notes with a hint of alcohol. Seemed a bit muddled to me.

Pow! Man, that cork flew across the kitchen. Very heavily-carbonated beer--good thing they put a wire cage on the cork on these. Pours a dark brown with a huge, frothy head that threatened to overflow the glass I put it in. Aroma was floral and fruity and maybe just a touch soapy, too. Nice combination of sweet, bready flavor with some touches of fruit in the flavor. Very smooth finish to it.

Bottle, Batch #010, shared by badnewsbeers. Deep orange-brown body, medium-thick off-white to tan head. Fruity nose with pear, grape, and red grapeskin, not too funky, also featuring toffee, candi sugar, alcohol, toast, and spice, including pepper and clove. Hints of wet socks and cola. Complex. Body with grape, brown sugar, and toast, also spice (pepper, clove), sweat, and bitterness, finishing somewhat tart.

375mL bottle, split with Matts_Property, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small ring of tan head. Delicate aroma of dark fruits, spices, butterscotch and brown sugar. Flavour brings out bananas mixed with dark fruits, toffee and some Belgian spices. Finishes with bananas and brown sugar. Medium complexity with low carbonation (especially for a Belgian Strong Ale). Very enjoyable.

Cloudy brown ale. Malty and slightly chocolately like a Scotch ale but with the crispness and sourness of a Belgian. Dry semi sweet finish.

Batch 001. 750 ml. This beer has held up surprisingly well. Big, frothy tan head, lasting. Brown body. The aroma has notes of cherry, caramel, toasted grain, plums, raisins, flowers and mustiness. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Slight oxidation with some port notes, but the dominant aroma and taste is of tart cherries balanced with sweetness of dark fruits. Dry finish with some alcohol warming. Very nice. Thanks TAR.

Blind tasting with tarheels86, thank you sir. Called "Salivation" by the gf. Clear reddish maroon, scant tan head. Taste is bitter cocoa, black pepper, with a bitter chocolate finish. Simple and straightforward.
