Pug fans rejoice - a beer with your favourite doggy on!
Our Simon came up with the delicious idea for this imperial stout, so it was only fair that his lovely dog Captain stole all the limelight. Sweet, silky and smooth, with a big chocolate hit and mellow warmth from the spices to give it that classic chai flavour. Comes Puggy approved

Can 440ml @ yngwie nyttår 2022
Pours black with a few tan bubbles. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, tea and some spices. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long chai tea spiced and chocolate finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. The chai tea spices are way to intense.

vintage 2021 can. hoptimaal deluxe calendar 2023 #16 purs dark brown, smooth small brown head. Chai spices and chocolate dominates, it does really have the aroma of a chai latte, only more chocolate and a bit of roasted malts. plus points for creative and interesting. flavor is chocolate cake and christmas pudding and some chai latte like flavors. in a way this is a lot like the Danish christmas beer tradition where the brewer empties the entire spice cabinet into the brewing kettle. Overall a bit too sweet n spicy, more interesting than good. The aroma was more refined and smooth and balancing than was the flavor. it's a sipper bc it is so spicy, and bc it is a bit over the top, so have to be enjoyed slowly.

Draught@Zinc Craft Bar, Vaasa. Black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is bananas, nutty, some roasted and chocolaty tones. Flavour is nutty, nougat, roasted, some nettle and espresso. Hides the alcohol rather well. Bunch of cinnamon shows up when it warms up a bit.

Can. An unclear dark brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is spiced and roasted, with coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak and tea. Cinnamon, honey cake, Christmas. It's full-bodied, lightly warming and nicely carbonated, smooth and oily. Cardamom, generic spices, tea, dark chocolate, coffee notes and a meaty touch in the flavor. Lasting finish. Perhaps a bit too spiced, but really nice. 221231

Black, tan edges of foam. Smell is sweet, spiced but lightly, some chocolate. Nice smoothness, fairly high carbonation. Taste is sweet and spiced; ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, lotsa clove. Sweet first, bitter aftertaste, long linger in throat. Not for me.

440 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 12.0%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Distinct and intense aroma of dark malts, lactose, vanilla, cocoa / chocolate - and not least the spices used (cinnamon, black peppercorns, cloves, ginger and nutmeg). Very sweet and spicy flavour, far too much lactose, and otherwise the same elements as the aroma. Loads of said spices in the aftertaste. Overkill, but props to the brewery for trying.
