Sample on Day 1 of the Aces & Ales Strong Beer Festival on 08/12/2011. Pours a pale golden color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of spiced hops, grapefruit and sweet malt. The finish is hoppy with a citrusy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tap at Toronado. Very good stuff. Big hop aroma with lots of citrus and pine. Very hop floral. Gold with a big white head. Tastes like a big IPA. No real lager-ish quality, not that I’m complaining. Fairly bitter finis but starts with some nice malt sweetness. Full feel. Lots of hoppiness in the taste. Good stuff.

On cask, all three versions. Chinook: pours a light golden color with some froth. Aroma of pineapple and exotic fruits. Dry and earthy hops flavor. Centennial. More fruit and pineapple citrus throughout. Cascade: Pours darker with more head. Aroma is earthier with even a touch of cinnamon. Earthy and dry flavor. Cask like mouthfeel for all three. Light bubbles.
