Allagash Saison is our interpretation of a classic Belgian farmhouse-style ale. Saisons were once brewed to slake the thirst of farmers returning from a long day of toil; they were spicy, light, and drinkable.
We brew this amber beer with a 2-row barley blend, malted rye, oats, and dark Belgian candi sugar. Northern Brewer, Bravo, and Cascade hops deliver a citrus profile with light bitterness. By fermenting with a traditional saison yeast strain, notes of spice and tropical fruit accent the aroma. Citrus and peppery spice balance its pleasant malt character. This beer is full bodied with a rustic, dry finish. Made for enjoying, no matter which type of work you’re returning from.

Not sure where I got this bottle... LCBO, or at the brewery in Maine, but found it kidding. Unfiltered, light-golden, yellow colour with a frothy white cap until last pour leaves some residue of colour in it. Tiny particles all over. Fruity aromas giving some sweetness with orange notes and hints of bananas. Decently refreshing with the balance of citrus and enough hops in the finish to dry the sweetness. Hints of the sugar in the end lingering. Good Saison, but still a little too rich for me to enjoy another. If I had another.

From a stubby bottle, very pale and clear. Smells clean and fresh. Decent co2 with some pretty good mild saison effects, not bad. Refreshing actually. Good stuff, easy going, not an in yer face saizzy. Hides the 6% rather well, not voltaile and comes across like a 4 percenter. Interesting and straight up easy saison, pretty good. Not bad considering all the rude ass domestic saison wannah beez I've had lately. Very much on style with the real stuff old country saisons. Thanks ally.

On tap at Allagash, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out tart citrus, spicy farmhouse notes and a touch of funk. Flavour is along the same lines, with farmhouse funk, spicy yeast and a touch of citrus. Nicely balanced, with great expression of the yeast. Very good.

Bottle, Wine Warehouse. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is dust, light citrus, yeast. Flavor is tangy lemon/wheat/yeast with a little bit of a chalky undertaste. Minor herbal finish.

Bottle thanks to wombat23. Pours pale yellow with a haze. Tall, foamy white head that fades to a thin layer. Aroma is yeasty, lemony, with a bit of clove. Taste is mildly sweet at the outset with candied sugar notes, but turning increasingly bitter and even tart at the finish. A nice range of flavor, even if not exactly captivating. Dry with a prickly carbonation. Overall, nice.
