Whilst we would not recommend having this at breakfast with your bacon and eggs, our Coffee Beer is made with real coffee and has a caffeine hit to match. The natural flavors of the beans selected and hand roasted by our friends at the Union Coffee Roasters go well with the roast barley in the beer to give a silky-smooth drink with distinct chocolate and vanilla notes

Clear dark brown colour with a red hue, large creamy light tan head, recedes slowly, good lacing. Aroma roasted malts, coffee, caramel, some cocoa. Taste medium sweet and bitter, roasted coffee, bitter chocolate. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste mild dry bittersweet, lingering coffee in the finish, nice.

330ml bottle. Clear, ruby red glowing, mahogany colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Coffee powder aroma on minimally roasty, dark malty basis. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, coffee notes, some vanilla. a touch of toffee. Simple and tasty.

Bottle from Beers of Europe [220115]
Very dark ruby, frothy beige head, some lacing
Aroma - Didn’t like this at all. Odd, awful earthy coffee. Some odd roasted nut in there.
Taste - Dark sweet malts, but that awful coffee roast just mucks it all up, some dark fruits, odd nutty roast, bit vegetal, no, this is yuck
Palate - Soft carb, medium thin body, fairly sweet. Finish a bit dry, getting a hint of espresso, but coffee is still poor
Overall - A few sips of this and it was thrown out. The coffee in here is absolutely terrible. In fact the beer is just awful. Worst coffee beer I’ve had. 90 on rateBeer here? ... more like 9 to my palate ... yuck

deep dark mahogany colour, moderate sized creamy brownish head; aroma of coffee, some vanilla, toffee and ash notes; taste of coffee...and coffee...and some coffee, too - not really complex porter

Bottle. Aroma plain roasted, light plum. Single-dimensional. Clear dark ruby-brown colour. Good head. Taste is spent coffee, roasted, slightly harsh, no astringency though. Average tasting to me. Overall a good beer though.

Looks exactly the same as the chocolate porter. Coffee in the aroma, also dark chocolate. Nice dry and bitter coffee taste. I like it a bit better than the chocolate version.
