Whilst we would not recommend having this at breakfast with your bacon and eggs, our Coffee Beer is made with real coffee and has a caffeine hit to match. The natural flavors of the beans selected and hand roasted by our friends at the Union Coffee Roasters go well with the roast barley in the beer to give a silky-smooth drink with distinct chocolate and vanilla notes

New Beer Distributors, NY 330ml ($5): Pours a black color with a thickish beige head. Aroma is chocolate, medium roast coffee, roasted malts, and sugar. Taste is a bit sweet. Coffee taste is comparatively mild to other coffee porters and stouts, but it does blend well with the malt profile. Body is nice and creamy and is probably the high point of this beer. Good beer all around.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 13.10.2012
Aroma is roasted with mocha, some truffles and chocolate. Flavour has lots of mocha, some truffles and dark chocolate. Harsh bitterness at the aftertaste. Rather nice porter for a coffee lover like me.

Nice classy slender "bowling-pin-looking" brown bottle from the LCBO. Pours a deep mahogany-brown colour with a creamy mocha head that stays a long time and creates decent lacing. Beautiful freshly grounded coffee grains with hints of chocolate and roasted malt for aromas. Wet smooth mouthfeel that is kind of refreshing when cold. The coffee is present as well in the taste, but everything is milder than the scent. Not much bitterness, just a little dry in the middle. A real treat for those how like their coffee beers to really smell like coffee and enjoy a refreshing porter.

Sample @ Porterfestivalen in Gothenburg on November 19. Pours deep brown with a pale brown head. Smell is sweet with a nice coffee character to it, reminds me of those coffee candies you can buy at the asian stores. Taste is lightly roasted malt, coffee and a strange taste of wet hay.

Bouteille 330ml.
