500ml bottle - Golden amber body, thin white head. Nose is hoppy with some grapefruit and tea notes. Taste has a refreshing light hoppy note with tea and grapefruit featuring again with a malty element. Quite nice and simple.

Flasche(Dank an Sabine!): Deep golden , a bit unclear, quite quickly collapsing loose off-white head, dry fruity-malty nose, tannic hops and an illusion of almonds detectable; moderate dryish bitter-sweet flavour, a certain malty base still present; pretty light bodied but not watery at all; mild but still quite spicy bitter-fruity finish. O.K. …

Bottle shared at the Waterfront Inn, IoW during the Isle of Wight Jolly. Pours clear yellow-gold with a white head. Light oxidation in the aroma, some bread, caramel. Light sweet flavor, some sugary bread, leafy bitterness, toasty grains. Light in body with fine carbonation. Simple sugary finish with lightly toasted malts, notes of oxidation, grain, caramel. Meh.

Cask at the Clarendon Arms, Cambridge. Clear, light honey brown. Very little head. Scent of nuts, toast, bit of wood shavings. Taste is a crisp, clean bitter with a slight hoppy bite in the finish. Body is fuller than would be expected. This is a very very good basic bitter. Surprisingly good. And that’s my 46 English counties, done in style.

Bottle split at the Waterfront Inn, Shanklin IOW during the Jolly Dat 24/08/14. Clear golden with moderate off white spotting and edgework. Nose is on the thin side, corn bread, cereals, pale malt, grain. The taste picks up the pace a little with light vanilla, faint hops, biscuit, mellow fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterings. Ok bitter.
