Bottle at the STR tasting I randomly stumbled upon and got invited to (huge thanks guys!). Shiny brownish body, didn't note the head. Plummy sweet aroma, some apricots, bit oxidation but pleasant. Lean, extremely dry taste, light plum, some alcohol, some odd minerally notes. Nah, the body gave up on it.

Historic check-in. Biermenu in bar said 8.5%, Ratebeer says 8%, bottle label says 6% !! Nevertheless delicious, though perhaps a bit thin for any of those strengths!

(bottle, 33cl) Dark brown colour with a beige and short foamy head. Roasty malty, slightly ashy aroma with notes of vanilla, chocolate and espresso. Moderately bitter and delicately sour-tart flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Roasty malt character with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, leather and coffee; dry and roasty bitter finish with a good length, hints of coffee, liquorice and traces of vanilla in the aftertaste. Good. 19.VIII.15

Bouteille: As black as ink, small and stable tanned head; sourish-sweetish nose of ashes, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malt and even of illusions of nuts; dryish bitter flavour with a delicate sweetness underneath, relatively light bodied, but quite soft, not without a light acidity-as expected; dry finish of bitter chocolate, vanilla and fruits and nuts. Good…

It has been some time since I rated this and, other than the fact that I didn’t like the taste and thought it was a bit watery, I didn’t take any notes. [Original rating: 6-3-5-2-11]. Re-rate 27th of May 2012: from stone jar @ Bierbeleving Oss : Opaque black color, small to medium sized off-white head. Smell malts, dark malts, roastyness, clearly alcohol, liquorice, some chocolate. Taste malts, dark malts, a hint of coffee, roastyness, lightly alcoholic. Little bit dry, still quite thin but better than last time.

Re-rate 2016: Very dark brown with lasting head. Aroma has light smoke and some roasted malts. Also a certain sweetness. Flavour is similar but the sweetness is nicely muted.
