This is a bottom-fermenting beer which ferments at low temperatures in traditional open vats. Like many other dark beers, it matures for a long time. The recipe includes caramel malt, roasted in the Miłosław brewery, and kola nut extract.

This beer’s extraordinary flavour is a combination of slightly bitter roasted malt balanced with a dose of surprising sweetness. The alcohol content is scarcely noticeable. Fortuna Czarne has highly refreshing qualities, but it can also be drunk as a dessert beer.

The product has garnered numerous awards, including the "Dobre bo Polskie" emblem, the Audience Award at the Polagra-Farm trade fairs in Poznań and a medal in the Szczyrk Beer Contest.

Fortuna CZARNE has been included on the List of Traditional Products administered by the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The List consists of products whose quality or unique characteristics stem from traditional production methods (employed for at least 25 years). On top of that, eligible products should be a part of their local communities’ identities and their home region’s cultural heritage.

Small greige, fast gone head over deep dark brown beer. Chocolate and lavender, rosemary. Weird... and then it turns into cola with cinnamon. Weird² ! Cola with arachide, liquorice, cinnamon, chocolate. Retronasal again lavender; Sweet with hints at spicy bitterness. Very spritzy, despite visual absence; light to medium bodied, too sweet to be refreshing. What the ... Oh, well, I don’t like *words, so... what IS this? Thanks to Aga!

Lots of cola nuts in aroma, some coffee, a little bit of fruits. The back label says something about caramel, but there is no such thing in aroma. Black, 100% opaque, with really nice and long head. Very sweet with a very small dose of bitterness. Light-medium body with oily texture, low carbonated. This beer is VERY refreshing, but it tastes more like coca-cola than beer. Should be less sweet and more bitter.

Totally weird blend of beer and cola and in that sense a kind of bottled ’mazout’, the Polish way. Pale beige, thin head, colour blackish with ruby hue, clear. Nose gets overwhelmed by cola, seemingly even more so than when you would put your nose in a glass of the pure stuff, hints of liquorice, brown bread, tea, thyme, grass, caramel candy, iron, nutmeg. Extremely sweet taste, sugary like cola or any other similar beverage, some medicinal herbal notes, thin and slick, somewhat watery mouthfeel with low carbonation, some caramelly malts shining through, vaguely bitterish finish more so because of spices than because of hops, some liquorice lingers but the sickly sweet cola taste never disappears. What a bizarre idea, it’s as if a bland beer and a bottle of coke accidently fell into the same bottle. Absolutely disgusting to my taste but it was interesting tasting this; I had a hard time finishing this, though.

Bottle. Pours clear very dark brown with shades of ruby and hardly any head at all. Sweet aroma of cheap cola. Sweetish flavour of sweetener and malt, with disturbing, bitter notes of roast and something that should not be there. Lingering, unpleasant, synthetic aftertaste. Bad.
