Can from the Lancashire Bottle Shop. Like a lot of these adjunct-heavy stouts it was a gusher and a difficult, lumpy pour. Aromas of cocoa and dried orange peel. Taste is dusty cocoa, faint orange and a sour tang. Not great.

440ml can from the brewery. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt and orange citrus. The flavour is light sweet and liqourice bitter, with a smooth, light tart orange, light chocolate palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. The orange certainly dominates the chocolate.

Can from the brewery online shop. Appearance - deep brown to black. Beige head. Nose - dark chocolate and orange. Taste - earthy and light liquorice. Black cardamom and a hint of orange. Palate - creamy and medium bodied. Light roastiness. Overall - the taste doesn't live up to the nose.
