Cask at the New Inn, Norton Lindsey. Poured a clear golden brown colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is roasty, light, toffee. The flavour is moderate to light sweet and liquorice bitter, with a smooth, nutty, roasty, light earthy palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark red colour with brief off-white head, no retention. Aroma and taste of light sweet malts, some toffee, and hint of dark fruits. Light bodied, nice zing to the carbonation, dry light tangy finish.

Bottle @Beershoppe (Rome). Bruna, schiuma beige media. Al naso note di caffelatte, caramella d'orzo. In bocca è morbida e bilanciata, attacco dolce, quasi dà caffelatte, chiusura appena amara. Corpo edile, carbonazione medio-leggera. Buonissima.

The original Hook Norton Mild (later Best Mild) was OG 1032 so I guess that could be equivalent to 2.8%

Cask at Trumpet, Evesham (not listed in RateBeer) Pours a very dark reddish brown with a generous cream head and good lacing. Nose is malty sweetness. In the mouth, mainly caramel and malt with some chocolate and hints of nuts. Finish is undistinguished. A nice session beer, but not much more

Cask at Nags Head. Half-pint shared with Finn. Creamy beige head blanketing the glass. A deep ruby glint to a dark body. Moderate mid-sweet malty nose, roasted. Tasting notes of caramel, earth, and liquorice. Hints of roasted malts to a short-lived finish. Decent mild considering the low abv. (Great Malvern 01.02.2020).
