Rum, dear lord at the rum. Butterscotch, brown sugar, caramel, and so much liquor warmth, so much hot, boozy rum. Desperately needs a brown ale or a stout underneath, something more substantial than the mild Mosaic ale serving as its base. Nose is exactly what it should be, and I guess the beer’s precisely what the description says it will be, but, man, so much rum.

Pour is a dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is mosaic hop with some butterscotch sweetness. Flavor is a buttered rum with some wood note and big alcohol. This may be a beer to set down for awhile. Nice buttered rum note but as of right now this is way boozy. I'm glad I only got the 12oz bottle of this but I may buy another just to try next year.

12 oz bottle. Golden pour with lots of fine particles and an off-white head. Heavy citrus candy aroma, rum, nearly plasticky. Flavor hits with rum, then strong candied citrus and tropical fruit. It actually kind of works after a moment. It definitely pushes some things to the extreme, but I think I like it.
Rerate: I have a note here to up this to 4.1 and add orange to the flavor description after having a couple more bottles (and I've since had a few more...). Now that I kind of understand it it's really fun and tasty.
Rerate 3/23/19: I just love this beer so much, even ten months after release (and thank you to Stadium Market Ann Arbor for still having these!). I hope it gets made again.

12 ounce bottle. Amber gold pour. Large firm beige head. Aroma has notes of sweet rum and stone fruits. First sip yields notes of caramel and buttery malt. Then some hints of apricot and guava. This reeks of the tropics. A real slow sipper that takes you to the islands. Unique and delicious.
