Warming with a mellow fruit aroma featuring grapefruit and orange citrus tones combined with floral and herbal notes from the Styrian Goldings hop variety, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Bottle from Kidlington, Sainsburys, purchased and consumed at home Wednesday 15th August 2012 Pours amber with white head. Soft in the mouth, sweetish but actually better than expected. sweet fruits with a little banana served a touch warm, however it improves the beer I think, I’m guessing though as too lazy to wait to serve cold. Credit, where credit is due, this is ok A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Cask at the Claude du Vall (JDW), Camberley. Amber with a scummy cream head; herbal aroma, with freshly cut grass; in the mouth there’s an immediate herbal, grassy, bitterness, before some tropical fruit appears; the body is sweet and oily, and the finish is rather tart. This is so much better than the bottled version.

(on tap) Gold copper colour with slight white head. Aroma is subtle - candy with a hint of hops. Medium body, light carbonation. Flavour starts with sweet candy and light malt with a hint of port, and has a rich toffee and hoppy bitter finish. Overall a nice stronger ale - rich but very drinkable.
