Cask at Old Wheatsheaf. Frimley Green. Clear golden-brown. Foamy off-white head. Aroma is malty with a bitter edge. Light-medium bitter. Earthy. Chewy. Twiggy. Tart berry edge. Underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Chewy but ultimately unexciting.

Pint on tap at Gardeners Arms, Offerton. Golden bronze colour with thin creamy white head. Zero carbonation. Notes of buttery caramel on the nose. Some peppery/celery thing going on the background. Unusual. Laces well. Good body, smooth texture. Taste is dark burnt caramel with a finish of pepper, dark fruit and granny smith apples. Quite nice, unusual bitter.
