From my great Maryland trader who came up with this little beauty, haha. I never thought I’d ever see this but given that I have a Maine Beer Company beer in my hands right now, do I pass up on a review? Haha, no way. The date on the bottle is April 8, 2014. Here goes.
I poured this into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy rounded and rustic looking orange with an invading one finger white foamy head that dissipates at a decent pace. This one ends up leaving a nice foamy lacing.
The smell is spectacular as it showcases a decently noticeable candied orange and citrus zest.
The taste models the same flavors coming out in the smell and has the same aftertaste that leads to a somewhat clean dry finish.
On the palate, it sits a moderately medium on the body and has a carbonation that is good for the APA style and for me. This is fairly sesionable to have perhaps several pints if it was available to me on a daily basis.
Overall, hey nice beer Maine Beer Company. I thought I’d never get another Maine Beer Company beer again, but this was a nice surprise from one of my favorite traders. Well worthy of having again and would seek out to possibly see if I could put this with some food, however I’m drawing a blank on that because of the orange and citrus zest that comes out. This is perhaps a better version of Elysian’s Blood Orange APA.

Bottle from that store in Londonderry. Pours a hazy dark straw color with a huge bubbly frothy beige head that persists forever. Aromas of lime, orange, and other citrus with just a hint of bready malt underneath. The flavor is heavy on the tart orange with hints of sour citrus and a light bready crackery malt flavor underneath. Light to medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a slcik resinous mouthfeel. I’m really digging the hops in this one, and the beer overall is great too. I might have to brew up something with El Dorado.

Location: 500 ml bottle from Buy Rite, 5/11/14

Aroma: This one has a nice, clean citrus/grapefruit hop aroma, with some light doughy malt notes
Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange color with a thick froth of off-white head and plent of lace
Flavor: The flavor is light, clean, and hoppy, with some citrusy sweetness, and a clean, bitter finish
Palate: It has a light-medium body, a smooth, clean mouthfeel, with a crisp, dry, lasting finish
Overall Impression: This is a pretty tasty APA. It is on the lighter side, crisp and clean, with a ton of drinkability. I quite enjoyed it. Maine rarely, if ever, disappoints me.

Half liter bottle from Beer Run. Pours a hazy dark orange color with a large frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of bright citrus, earthy, pithy hops, mild pale malts and a faint bit of nuttiness. The taste is dry, pithy citrus, pale malts with a mild bit of caramel. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness, well balanced, moderate carbonation, clean. Nice beer.

Bottle (dated 2/11/14) poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy apricot yellow color with a finger and a half of off-white head. Great lacing. Aromas of orange citrus, light floral notes, fruit loops. Tasting notes of orange citrus, biscuit, citrus peel/rind, floral hops. Semi-juicy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Another solid offering from Maine Beer Company!
