We’re totally Frucht around here. In fact, we may just be filled to the brim, with excitement, that is. Our threshold is 250 BBLs, to be more precise. That’s the total capacity of each oak foeder at Bruery Terreux. One is dedicated exclusively to Frucht, our series of fruited Berliner Weisse-style beers. Known for a tart flavor profile and traditionally low ABV, our German-style wheat beer gains even more funky notes and natural earthy-woodiness from its fermentation in the large oak foeder vessel. Each installment in the series features a new fruit, or Frucht, if we’re Sprechen sie Deutsch.
This installment has raspberries added. Prost!

Hazy, pink, lots of raspberry, tart with a touch of brett, and tannins. Not bad.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy bright pinkish red with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of fresh raspberries, with a touch of oak. Flavour is wonderfully expressive on the raspberries, with light acidity and a touch of oak. Great use of fruit. Excellent.

Taster at Alibi Room during The Bruery tap takeover. Pours a dull rose-ish copper with a rose head. Aroma is sweet raspberry, very nice. Taste is quite dry and sour, with lots of raspberry notes. A bit too acidic for me, but it is good.

Bottle at alus celle in Riga. Pours unclear amber red. Not much foam. Smell is intense, tart raspberry, bit oak. Taste is tart, full on dry sourness, American style. Some raspberry in the back. Dry ending. Médium thin body, higher than average Carbo. A bit to dry for my personal liking, would have loved a bit more fruit.
