Draught at Baladin Open, Rome. Cloudy, dark copper to brown colored. AROMA- prunes, plums, caramel, chocolate, earthy. FLAVOR- creamy, dry, lightly bitter, prunes, plums, blackberries, roasted malts, earthy. Medium bodied. Somewhat Belgian style stout. Tasty.

Cask at the brewpub in Milano. Pours very dark coperbrown, nearly black. Creamy tanned head, very stable. Smell is bit coffee, very 'lactic' , creamy, extreme diacetyl. Mild burnt. Taste is very unbearable diacrtyl. I've never tasted this off flavor this intense. A big buttery, almost milky ( spoiled milk, but not sour ) blast coveres most of the tae. Underneath this all some roasty notes, but the beer really is lost to this. The waiter assured me this is 'because it's a stout ' and had no clue what diacetyl was. Either the staff sucks, or this beer does, but he repeatedly told me this is the way the beer tasted. Always. I'm used to far far better by baladin....

Keg at Baladin, Bologna. A hazed dark brown coloured pour with a lasting light tan head . Aroma is sweet nutty roast, tangy, woody vanilla, apple, cakey. Flavour is composed of sweet tangy cakey malts, dried apple, vanilla. Creamy. Palate is medium sweet, moderate to low carbonation, flabby. Ok.

Cask @ Baladin Bistrot, Milan. Pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, light caramel, chocolate. Flavor is malts, coffee, dark chocolate, caramel. Medium body, soft carbonation, dry finish. 101215

Draft @ Baladin Bologna. Brune foncée, col crémeux et soyeux blanc-cassé. Arôme est malté, carapils, marris otter très anglais avec une petite pointe de chocolat en rétro. Palais reste léger et agréable. Garde ce profil rappelant le grand nom du stout irlandais, léger grillé, caramel, mais aussi un léger grillé amer, fini sec avec un soupçon de fumé en toute fin de bouche.

Hand pumped @ Baladin bistrot, Milano. Nice head with excellent duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, little chocolate, notes of coffee and has a nice dry finish. Nice and smooth.
