On tap at the Oxford taproom. Pours clear brown with an off-white head. Lightly brown sugar and malts on the nose. Flavour is like porridge bread, some light brown sugar, slightly sweet. Very comfortable brown ale.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear brown with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of dark grain and bread with light roast and nuttiness supporting. Flavor has bread and nuttiness throughout with a light roast supporting.

341ml bottle. Pours a clear red-brown with a small, creamy, short lived, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, nuts and a hint of chocolate. Sweet flavour of nuts, roasted malt, chocolate and light caramel with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and lively carbonation.

Enjoyed at the brewery on my trip there in late 2015. Pours a clean copper-amber colour with a beige, average head with a little lacing. Roasted malt nose with some fruitiness and sweetness. Fruity malt taste with a roasted finish. Refreshing mouthfeel with a little tartiness. Nothing too crazy nutwise, but some good roasted malts and fruitiness.

Keg at the brewery. It pours clear deep brown with a small off-white head. The nose is toasted nuts, earthy roast, dried fruits, raisin, fruit cake and some treacle. The taste is smooth, toasty, bitter-sweet, dried fruits, fruit cake, nut, light caramel and wood with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well rounded and easy-going nut brown ale.
