Sample (thanks fonefan!I). Black colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is some toffee, mild wooden, fruity, some mild liquorice tones. Flavour is toffee, chocolate syrup, liquorice and mild wooden and dried fruity tones. Very nice, even considering the abv.

ABV: 9.3%. Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark malt, dark fruit, dried fruit, raisin, prune. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, raisin, prune, roasted, dark malt, sweet malt, wood touch, light molasses. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming. [20230407]

Bouteille 33cl, BB 28/06/2024, merci Willy, part de son xmas box dont il n’aime pas les stouts.
Noire, col fin crémeux blanc-cassé voire café au lait.
Arôme sur un bouquet classique de gros stout d’inspiration US, ici rien en termes d’ajout. Bouquet oscillant sur un léger effet umami/sauce soja. Sucre candi, fruits noirs et secs.
Palais est épais, finement sirupeux avec une belle dose de fruits noirs et confits – pruneaux, figue et dattes – ainsi qu’un léger rappel de sirop de Liège et petite note de feuille de tabac. Fini sur un léger collant aux lèvres. Amertume fine en retrait, plutôt sur le noble, finement fleuri/terreux avec une pointe d’agrumes/mentholé.

Bottle from Loz's Mikkeller Advent Calendar Beer Box had this Friday 6th January 2023 listening to Afrodeutscha on 6 Music. We had a fantastic Mousakka and Greek Salad tonight. Pours black with a large light tan coloured head, lots of chocolate and also getting some bonfire toffee. A very different Impy Stout to the previous one, a lot more in line with a traditional one but still deviates a little, there is a little cola flavour, very sweet, it's good but not without it's failings.

mikk.xmas calendar. 2022 aroma of raisins, roasted malts. not much noticable bitter hoppy balance, pretty old-school, just with a raisiny note to the aroma, sort of a bit like a belgian quad. fainter notes of chocolate. flavor is roasted malts, dark dried fruits, malts are quite bitter in the ending - the good kind of bitter, like coffee. but there is this dark dried fruity flavor note that I find a bit unusial. Could it be infection? or could it be some secret spice or something added. unusual yeast?. lagered in plum-liqor-barrels.. Perhaps I should check the label.... no.. brewed conservatively. perhaps it is a little bit off. The plum like dark fruity flavor suits it well though.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a smallish, light brown head. Sweet licorice and roast aroma. Rich, sweet roast, vanilla and licorice. Full-bodied. There's an underlying unclean note, that is somewhat disturbing, somewhat moldy Warming alcohol finish. 111022

Tap @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren. Black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, dried fruit and dark sugar. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. 220922

Bottle from the brewery. Black with a lasting tan head. Roasted aroma with toffee, chocolate and dried prunes and figs. Sweetish rich flavour with chocolate, liquorice, dried fruit and a touch of warm, vineous alcohol. A classic, no-nonsense imperial stout.
