A dark Belgian strong ale, one of my preferred styles. And it is Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel aged, only better. Let us see if my expectations are met. Using a tulip glass, I open the 33 cl bottle and pour. The body is brown-amber and the head shows a parchment tan color before settling promptly to a decent skim. I smell dark fruit, grain and a bit of booziness, all somewhat subtle. The taste is all right but blander than I hoped. Yellow plums, cereal, a bit of hard candy, malt, raisins and just a hint of the bourbon. A decent beer, unfortunately not one that pops with flavor.

Creamy white excellent fully lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. Blue label: 7-4-8-4-15

Kerstbier Festival. Clear reddish brown beer with a beige lacing. Aroma of intense wood, bourbon, dried fruits. Taste of dried fruits, dark malt, grains, whiskey.

Cuivre, léger pâle, col fin crémeux blanc-cassé.
Arôme présente un bouquet délicat de Bourbon - pointe de barrique et vanille avec un nez restant sur un nez belge - qcq esters. Léger bouquet grillé des malts avec un délicat pâle - et un soupçon épicé voire de fruits secs.
Palais présente une belle base belge de la Quintine - petite sécheresse boisée chêne américain / vanille, petite touche épicée venant plus de la base Noël de cette Quintine. En fin de bouche, petite note coffee/fudge avec un effet booze des 10% qui perce en fin de bouche. Très correcte

Clear deep amber brown beer, big creamy yellow to beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: nice, caramel malts, some chocolate, yeasty, vanilla. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: alcohol, lots of vanilla extract, malty, caramel, a bit sweet, some alcohol, oxidized. Aftertaste: lots of bourbon, malty, vanilla, alcohol, good stuff, yeasty finish, more vanilla, a bit oxidized, bitter notes, decent!
