The First release in our “New Orthodox” IPA series, M-43 is designed to accentuate the deep and complex character from the combination of Calypso, Amarillo, Citra, and Simcoe hops. Citrus and Tropical notes of Pineapple, Mango and Grapefruit come through in the huge, yet surprisingly delicate aroma. The flavor backs these aromas with a soft, pillowy mouthfeel. Hop bitterness is not particularly intense, which leads to a very drinkable, juicy IPA even non-IPA fans love. The Haze is not from yeast, but rather from an interplay of lipids from the malted oat and oils and acids which naturally occur in the hand selected Dry hops. This beer is a perfect interplay between top grade malt and hops, MI water and brewing technique which cannot be faked.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: thick orange haziness with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light messy lace clinging to the glass.
Aroma: grapefruit, oranges, pine, passion fruit and a little bit of lemon hoppy notes with a light clean biscuity base malt
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine juicy bittersweet quality; finishes orangey, passion fruity, piney and grapefruity
Texture: medium bodied - hmmmm, maybe a touch under; somewhat sessionable; some smoothness and a little bit of hop bitterness assertiveness
Overall: a very nicely done NE styled IPA I would very much love to have again.

Can from Beer Republic. Aroma is juicy fruity hops with citrus, tropical fruits, papaya, mango, passion fruit, oniony dankness, oats, orange, guava, some pineapple. Flavour is sweetish with a soft bitterness. Body is medium. Beautifully gentle and juicy, I could not stop making sips.

Very hazy straw golden coloured body that's murky, but still shows some bubbles on the sides of the glass, all with a two centimetre tall pure white soapy head. Aroma of oranges, grapefruit, light honey, oats, a touch of hay, grass and some lactose in here as well, with a bit of alcohol at the end of the nose. Medium-bodied; Very orange-y and citrusey flavours show at first with a kick of dryness and hay-like, almost saison-y notes at the end with a slight bit of sugars, but the end shows some actual hop bitterness, too. Aftertaste is rich - pretty malty, especially for the style that somehow shows a bit more biscuity than others, but this is very clean and dry with some hop bitterness coming through the seems, with an underlying flavour of citrus fruits throughout. Overall, a nice beer - about right for the style, but the strawberry (tart) version that I sampled yesterday was somehow much better overall - this is a tad dry, but still shows the fruits here and while the hops are noticeable, the malt sticks out a bit too much. Good to sample from the great state of Michigan - fairly fresh, but I'd recommend the tart-strawberry version of this [M-43] if you only have ONE! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Northville, Michigan on 23-October-2022 for US$3,25 canned on 29-September-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 17-December-2022.

Taster at Downers Rotary GroveFest. Big fruity edge just from sniffing the foam. Haze makes it almost look like a glass of milk. Taste is very nice. Milky again, like some lactose is involved? Fruity ale notes. A slight edge of bitterness meeting bright malts.

16oz can from Tavour. Finally tracked this one down due to its consistently high scores. Hazy orange golden pour, small creamy white head. Citrusy aroma, oranges, hint of caramel. Taste has light, sweet cccaramelly malts up front which quickly slide under a layer of velvety citrus hops and orange juice. So Smooth, so tasty. I'm not worthy!

Murky yellow gold with a large foamy white head that lingered and left great lacing. Tanfya and Citric with moderate tropical fruit and little bitterness. Medium finish and body.
