Mixed rating of taster pour on tap at The Grill Next Door, Haverhill and can pour at Craft Brew Race, Worcester. Appearance is dark yellow with lots of floaties, decent sparkle, thin ring of off-white head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma hard to define and not terribly strong--an overall fruitiness, maybe trace grapefruit, tart yeasty fruit, citrus--and background cracker malts. Taste is sweet, in an almost medicinal candy sense, maybe vaguely grapey, then tart fruit. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, smooth texture, soft side of soft-to-average carbonation and pleasant dry mix of bitter and tart finish. Overall, a bit odd. Not a great look, the aroma is weak, the flavor is at least interesting and the palate is a bit thin for a DIPA.
