A still dry cider available in 500ml bottles and occasionally on draught.
Traditional dry farmhouse cider. The Kingston Black apple is the most famous apple in the cider making world. Dating back centuries, the variety originated in Somerset, but by the 1800s it had spread all over England & Wales. A favourite with the old farming communities and their traditional way of cider making; often kept for the vintage house cider and drunk on special occasions. There have been various new strains of this variety grown but none to match the taste of the old. Matured in oak barrels with natural yeasts.

500ml bottle at home on a sunny Autumn afternoon. Typically rich taste from Gwatkin, even for a Kingston Black, with a familiarly sharp nuclear sour tang that shoots to the back of the throat and zings you repeatedly as you make a valiant attempt to swallow. Never been a fan of Gwatkin and this one definitely does not do this apple justice.

Bottle shared at CBC Islington during the Ryan Tasting. I got this beer from Kris Wines, I think it was. Pours clear, bright gold with a light, bubbly head. Pukey and funky apple in the aroma. Medium sweet flavor, fairly funky, with salt and well ripened apples. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lightly tangy apples to finish, light dryness. Novel stuff.

Bottle, at Cardinal. A clear, golden cider ith a diminishing white head. Some alcohol, quite heavy apple aroma, hints of cellar, and vinegar on the nose. Nice flavor with alcohol and lemony tartness, hints of vinegar and a good taste of apples and apple cores. Dry, warming and astringent. Apples, some alcohol and tartness in the finish. A lovely cider in my book, good tartness and really filled with apples. 090728

500 ml bottle. Clear golden with a decent white head. Aroma of both fresh and ripe apple, quite nice. It’s dry but not as dry as Golden Valley and the flavor is pretty clean. This is more an average cider with good quality. Refreshing but not outstanding, but the aroma is really nice

Bottle from Tanners, Hereford. Amber in colour with slight carbonation. Light dry apple and barnyard aroma. Light, tart apple flavour with a dryish finish. Clean, competent, but lacking in character.
