Humuloid is the natural extension of our Lupuloid, a double IPA with plenty of wheat and oats for a rich body, and fermented with Vermont yeast to lend it some fruitiness. Low bitterness in the boil, but then dry hopped with 18 g/l of Citra and Azacca for huge hoppy aromatics balancing out the sweetness of the finishing gravity.

Malt: Golden Promise, Golden Naked Oats, Wheat, Flaked Oats, Dextrin, Acidulated
Yeast: Wlp 4000 (Vermont)
Hops: Columbus, Citra, Azacca

Draught at CBF Wien.
Orange, hazy body, with a medium, creamy, yellowish head.
Aroma of citrus, passion fruit, earth, mango, lychee, some biscuit.
Tastes quite similar, but even fruiter and also earthier, with some more pine.
mouthfeel, with a carbonation.
Finishes very crisp, moderate bitter, medium dry, citric, earthy, very fruity, a bit sweet, with slight biscuit.

Delicious. Especially the taste is very lovely, perfectly balanced and crisp. Typical lovely earthy notes, like in many Beavertown IPAs. Another outstanding DIPA by them.

Can at The Ravensgate Arms Ramsgate. Hazy gold amber colour lasting white head. Lots of intense hop on aroma. Leafy fresh hop. Intense dank hop. Pink grapefruit. Leafy dank hop dominates. Decent.

23/XI/17 - 33cl can from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 24/I/18 (2017-1934)

Pretty clear orange beer, small irregular off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, mango, peaches, passion fruit, citrus, some grapefruit, some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet malts up front, orange peel, slightly sugary, nice bitterness, citrus, some caramel. Aftertaste: marmalade, citrus, grapefruit, nice bitterness, sweet malts, orange peel. Somehow I was expecting more of this...

Can from Ales by Mail. Pours London murky golden with a short-lived thin white head. Big pineapple and mango aromas, light pine too. Taste is more like sweetened orange juice. Yep, too sweet for me.

330ml can. Opaquely hazy, dark yellow-ish, golden colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. This seems to be the outcome of a very piney and resinous (instead of tropical and/or citrusy fruity) hoppy IPA brewed in NE (or Vermont) style. Almost boring, oaty and slightly sweaty, hoppy aroma, initial hints of yellow apple and elderberry transform into kiwi fruit and gooseberry at second sight. But then: The taste is an hop flavour explosion of unique intensity. Body-shaking, crisp hop bitterness and rich hoppy fruitiness with piney and sweaty, resinous support, notes of pineapple, grapefruit, mango, passion fruit, fig, minimally sugary, oaty, caramel malty basis, hints of candied orange zest, mandarine, lemon, kiwi fruit. This is a ripsnorter.
