A porter inspired by recipes of old, where speciality dark barley malts and midnight wheat take the senses in one direction, before beautiful hops pull you in another. Expect a voyage of chocolate, coffee and subtle sweetness, balanced and complemented by pine, citrus and resinous hop character.

44cl can (canned: 25/02/22; BB: 25/02/23) from Etre Gourmet web shop. F: big, tanned, good retention. C: dark, opaque. A: roasted tones, chocolate, coffee, citrus, grapefruits, bit tropical fruits, marzipan, dark bread, pine. T: medium malty base, roasted tones, coffee, chocolate, caramel, orange, pine, dark bread crust, soft to medium carbonation, long lasting harmonic bitterness, very good for the style but more like dark ipa for me, fully enjoyed.

Black beer, thick tan head. Smell has a good mix of toasty malt pine, sharp hop. It's got a good body to it, this. Tastes of toasty, earthy malt, bitter coffee, pine, a bit of zesty hop with a nice roasty malt finish with airy pine lingering throughout. Very nice.

Large foamy tan head stayed on a near black body. Liquorice, roasted & an unusual marzipan aroma. Medium bodied, smooth over the tongue with a sharp clean back. Roasted, burnt, liquorice & malt tastes with an extremely bitter hopped up finish. Excellent!

Tap at PoW Farnborough. Aroma is malty with a coffee and liquorice streak. Glossy and dark. Thin foamy tan head. Medium bitter. Coffee and liquorice with a sprinkle of pepper. Hints of sour berries. Medium bodied. Oily. Average carbonation. Long astringent finish. Satisfyingly bitter Porter.

Certainly hopped up. Could nearly be a black ipa. Very nice though, clean and sharp and dry. Can from mavder

Can picked up from Væskebalancen - Valby and drunk at home (16/04/2022) - black with a dark beige head. Dark roasted malty with notes of cocoa and caramel, fudge like sweetness, charred brown sugar, nice hoppy undertones punching through, nice body, lingering dark malty close, lovely, really solid porter.
