Pours absolutely black. Small ring of dark foam. Smell is dark malts, mild spices. Boozy. Taste is sweet, rich, thick, dark malts. Spices are to the back, so don’t overpower. Sharp boozy undertone though. Nice !

Bottle split at RB Best Hotel Lobby Share, post festival, 31/01/16. Black with a well appointed tan head. Nose is dark fruit rinds, raisens, dates, chocolate, toffee. Taste comprises bitter chocolate, modest barrel notes, liquorice, black peppery spice, stoned fruits, molasses. Full bodied, fine carbonation, rising alcohol in the close. Decent enough offering but fails to deliver compared to similar high boost impys.

Thanks Matt for sharing the bottle! Poured into a snifter showing pitch black with red wine rims and no head. The nose shows extremely brandy forward. The palate is full bodied and moderately carbonated. Moderate alcohol spiciness throughout with strong flavors of brandy and lighter notes of apple.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nice Brandy notes with some black chocolate and residual sugar notes. Taste is a nice mix of black chocolate notes with some residual sugar notes and nice Brandy notes which rounds off any rough edges from this beer. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation. Wonderful beer that I wish I would have access to.
