Growler from Whole Foods in Chandler, AZ pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a nice looking tan head of foam. The aroma offers up a pleasing rich mix of pine and citrus hops with burnt malts and chocolate malts and a touch of floral hops in the background. The hop combination of pine, citrus and some mild floral give it a slight earthy dank shallot or onion type quality or I’m getting Columbus in here too. Nice. The taste is right there with the nose coming across with firm bitter hops of pine and citrus that are tempered by a nice malty body and some malt sweetened dank onion like hops. Toward midway chocolate malts and some burnt malts move forward and join seamlessly with the hops. Bitter citrus and some pine hops along with highly roasted malts ride this right into the after taste. This beer really comes together for me. Love it.

On draught at Aces & Ales in Las Vegas. Brownish-black pour with a medium tan head that diminishes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hops and pine. Medium-bodied with flavors of resiny hops, bready malt and a hint of dark chocolate. The finish is sweet malt up front with a piney hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours black with a 4 finger creamy beige head. Very hoppy aroma. Med body. Flavor is resin/citrus/floral/chocolate. Fairly malty, but the hop keeps it in line. It’s definitely very bitter. Finishes towards piney for me. Excellent.

A dark reddish amber ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, nice biscuitmalt with dark fruits, floral hops, citrus and treacle. In mouth, a sweet roasted caramel malt with floral resinous hops, light coffee , very nice.
