Third Coast Old Ale starts with a rich, caramel base, and finishes with a heavy hop bitterness. Sharply intense at first, it will age gracefully, adding complexity and subtlety in your cellar. Go ahead, test your patience.

Bottle. A- Fig jam, dates, plums, molasses, mild booze. A- Dark garnet color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Port wine, dates, molasses, burnt caramel, cherry, doughy, worchestershire sauce. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, lingering bitterness. O- Drank at 4 years vintage to the date. I purposely cellared this knowing it was a classic for the cellar yet I didn't know how long to wait. Wish I had several to play with. For some reason, I decided to open it today, I guess to celebrate my brother's first day as an airline pilot and my terrible week at work. The nose was beautiful. Taste was very good too but didn't meet the expectations the nose set. Didn't love the floaties in the appearance, but who am I kidding, this was a stellar beer. A lingering bitterness at the end that I didn't love as it warmed. Really curious to try this at different ages now. Deserves a higher rating than I gave it. I bet with a year of age I'd have given it closer to a 4.5

Bottled. Dark brown color. Vinous aroma with raisin and grape juice. Vinous, woody flavor with bready notes, a firm earthy and flowery hopbitterness. Medium bodied, a bit rough and alcoholic, but not without complexity.
