This singular amber ale, brewed with a touch of smoked malt whisky, offers the delicate taste of fine Belgian yeast and caramelized apples.

It celebrates the courage and festive spirit of the log drivers of yesteryear.

lots of sweet whiskey malt. the flavour of the whiskey really comes out. its very subtle and mild, but its there, and add a nice dimension to the beer.

Easily my least favourite from Unibroue. Oh well. Can’t help but be patriotic!

It's a great looking beer, all coppery with finger of fluffy white head. Mouthfeel too, thick, rich. Taste however isn't amazing. Bready malts, mild carmel, a touch of bitterness, a little copper. It's just fine, a very straightforward brew.

Bottle found in a drinks shop in Borne. Amber color. Peararoma with a hint of caramel. Caramelly sweet flavor with a hint of peat. Sticky mouthfeel. Perfumed. Thin. Could use more character.

(Bottle) clear, bright orange colour with a small cream head; aroma of candy, hint of smoked fruit; light, balanced flavour with a long, light tart finish, hard to find any smoked character

From old tasting notes. Hazy Amber gold color. Huge rocky white head. Interesting earthy malt nose reminiscent of fresh mushrooms. Tangy, smoky malt flavor is full bodied and complex.

F: big, white, good retention. C: dark amber, hazy. A: malt, orange peels, yeast, spicy, floral, fruity, brown sugar. T: malt, peach, banana, metallic tones, yeast, hint of spice, coriander, medium body, high carbonation, not bad but I am missing smoky tones there, 341ml bottle from Christmas market in Brussels.

Postively ancient bottle lurking in the back of my cellar for at least 8 years. Hazy amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy and crisp. Light malts, a little oxidised caramel but not that much. Touch of malt cream. Dried fruits and a little orange peel. Tangy orange finish. It’s survived well but it has been pretty cool and dark throughout it’s long life. No smoke though ...
