Scaled is the first IPA brewed and packaged at our Canton, MA facility. In the Spring of 2018, we implemented recent learnings from our Permutation program to breathe new life into this milestone beer. The newly developed fermentation profile and grist coupled with foundational elements from a larger hop charge of legacy hop varieties take this IPA to the next level! El Dorado, Citra, and Columbus hops create an aromatic blast of juicy mango, pineapple, and lemon candies. Pineapple, sweet orange and pink grapefruit flesh follow on a medium bodied palate that finishes with a soft, mild to moderate bitterness.

MALT: American 2-row Barley, White Wheat, Flaked Wheat, Dextrine, C-15
HOPS: El Dorado, Citra, CTZ

Aromas were very pleasant fresh hoppy citrus with malt. Flavors were similar to nose and well-balanced with just right bitter, sweet and carbonation. Satisfying.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours an opaque, bright yellow with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of muddled stone fruit pith, a touch of dankness, and light hopburn. Flavour is moderately fruity, with tropical stone fruit pith, some hopburny bitterness, and a touch of citrus peel. Muddled, hopburny and pithy. Again, even the progenitors of this style don’t do it well. Meh.

Can at home from Cloudwater Online, 12th March 2021. Pours a light hazy orange. Aroma is lemon and orange sherbert, pineapple, mango and candy. Taste is spikey orange and lemon, dry and fairly bitter with a bittersweet bite on the finish, and a huge linger. It’s complex and very well made, loads of bitter lemon and grapefruit interwoven with sweet mango persist.

Pours a nice hazy amber from a can. Big mango aroma, some citrus pith. Similar flavor, more of a dry grapefruit juice flavor mixed in. Thin as all get out though, watery almost. Still a good beer, wish it had more substance.

One of Trillium's first and still flagship beers, can at pre-Zwanze tasting. Had that formidable 'double' version two years ago so this was one I was particularly looking forward to. Egg-white, lightly lacing, moussy, thick but open ring over cloudy, lemon-yellow robe with warmer orangey tinge. Incredible aroma, bursting with vibrant 'sunniness' of mandarin juice, yuzu flesh, yellow plums, mango, lychee, guava, rambutan, starfruit, soggy biscuit, fruit yoghurt, rhubarb compote. Crisp, extremely bright in the mouth, mandarin and pomelo 'citrusiness' in a most radiant, spritzy way, adorned with softer mango and melon impressions; refinedly but vividly fizzing carb, soft 'bread pulpy' and creamy mouthfeel perfectly embodying one of this style's key features. Ends with a massive amount of again brightly shining - I'd almost say 'blinding' - tropical citrus hoppiness, minneola and yuzu, fresh and completely spotless, adding a soft spicy end bitterness to the whole. This is extremely brightly citrusy, a seething tropical sun of a beer with not one element - even on a 'micro level' - disturbing its glowing shine. Probably the brightest NEIPA I ever had - and in that sense, the best. Phenomenal.

Very citric. Little too sweet, but still good beer.
