A hazed amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, smooth caramel malts over c-hops, lemony, quite nice. In mouth, a smooth pale ale with crisp caramel malts, restrained amarillo notes, quite nice and classic. Dry hopped with Amarillo. Cask at Get Real NY, March 19 2011.

Pours a hazy kind of grapefruit color - substantial head - taste immediately British, in that there seems to be a fair amount of buttery diacetyl that tastes as if the brewer intended it to be there (don’t ask me how I know that; I just do!) - very malt forward, with an interesting mix of fig and raisin flavors - a bit of stale English hoppiness on the tail end - some treacle or bread pudding-ish quality to it - an earthy component - just all very...British - not a bad thing - a bit too malt-forward for me.

Location: Sampled at the NY Brewfest on Governor's Island, 6/19/10
Aroma: The nose on this one has some fruity notes, bready malts, and floral hops
Appearance: Pours a clear orange-golden color with a small head
Flavor: The taste has some sweetness, and is quite well balanced, by a nice amount of hops
Palate: The body is medium, relatively easy drinking and smooth
Overall Impression: Overall, this was a pretty good Pale Ale. I liked it. Nothing super out there or inventive, but enjoyable none-the-less. This brewery seems to be putting out a quality product. I hope to see more of them in the future.

Sampled the original batch at the brewery. FYI, they are ditching this recipe and taking their KABAMarillo and making it the new Harbor Ale. I am rating the original recipe. Pours a transparent orange amber with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly sweet, light flowers. Flavor is sweet, a touch of citrus, a little pale malt. Finish is watery. Glad their making the switch in recipes, this was forgettable.

Tap. Pours a clear, light orange with a thin white head. Light malt nose with hints of earthy hops and apple juice. Flavor is quite bitter but not aggressive like an IPA. As I said, earthy. Medium in body and carbonation. Slightly sticky on the finish with lingering bitterness. Pretty dang good.
