500 mL bottle, 2013. Pours a pale, bubbly orange, with a small, foamy, off-white head. The nose is butterscotch, toffee, corn syrup, light pecans, and resin. Cloyingly sweet, with a hint of bitterness that doesn’t come close to cutting the sweetness. Medium body, very sticky, lightly effervescent, and smooth. This is an oppressively sweet, thick, beer. Not poorly made, nor simple, just far too sweet.

A golden wheat wine with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity banana malt with light cloves, alcohol warmth, very nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with loads of tropical fruits, light mineral notes, cloves, alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at Binny’s Lincoln Park.

Bouteille 37.5cl de Luekens, Dunedin. Anno 2013.

2013 Bottle from my cellar, dont remember where I got it from. Pours clear blonde, regular sized white head. Smell is chemical, dry yeasty ( lager style yeast almost ) sweet, some honey, some fruity ( grape ? ) aspect. Strong scent, but not to be called great. Taste has characteristics of what I’d call a typical belgian blonde beer. The overripe fruit notes from the strongly tasteable yeast, the mild bitterness and the thick sweetness. Drinks rather easy though. And less carbonation than the permanently overcarbonated Belgian beers. Appart from these diffrences, this could very well be yet another abbey beer blonde. You dont taste the booze, really. All and all I dont love it though

Bottle sampled at a tasting event. From notes. Caramel, citrus and wheat. This is the 2012 vintage. A bit past its prime, but still very good.

Bottle: (2010 vintage) Pours bubbly amber with a tall, off-white head. Aroma of soft, baked bread, banana, wheat. Taste is sweet, delicate...apricot, banana, orange-candy. Like a very sweet tripel...was my first thought.....or a dunkel... Alcohol is barely noticeable.. Remarkably airy and light for the big flavours coming through. Really good.

2012 bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a cloudy orange with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is caramel and sugar malt. Medium mouth, candy sugar, sweet, toffee, good.

2010 bottle thanks to Stephen. Pours a big hazy, light golden orange appearance with a tan head. Aroma has some olives, orange citrus, and spices. Twangy, tart citrus flavor with some lime and veggie. Some wine notes. Ehhh, not very good.

2012 bottle opened in 2014 by Cbfobes. Hazy unfiltered golden-tan body. Tastes faded. Odd mushroom off tones. The wheat has deteriorated, but the BW aspect isn’t so bad. Past it’s prime, devolved.
