We are brewing this highly aromatic IPA to help celebrate our 2017 arrival in the great state of Texas. Of course, we used 100% Amarillo hops for this special Texas-only release, to give it big, bold tropical and citrus notes. The bitterness from the hops is balanced with a hefty amount of malt.

I got this as a single 12 oz. bottle purchased at the neighborhood HEB. A friend tried it and liked it. So what if I am more of a Mosaic hops fan than I am Amarillo? It sets up very nice, a straw yellow liquid and a heroic white head that is replenished by a continuous stream of bubbles. The smell is fine, I detect pineapple and meadow. The taste is lesser, a mild hoppiness, grass and a gentle finishing bitterness. Maybe I like more of a punch in an IPA. Thanks though to Bell’s for the salute to Texas.

On tap at Hughies. Pours a hazy orange gold with large creamy white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is strong tropical fruit, floral, pine. Medium body, tangerine, grapefruit, pine, light bitterness, juicy, very good.
