On tap at Hogs Apothecary. Aroma is malty with toasted bread and roast notes. Light nuttiness with medium light coffee notes. Pours a murky, dark brown color with a large, thick, pillowy, dark tan head that recedes to a thin, creamy film that persists. Moderately high lacing and no legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with a fairly dry finish. Medium low bitterness with some roast, toast and nutty noted. Medium light coffee notes. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation and a slightly sticky finish. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer for brunch. Decent malt and coffee notes without becoming too overpowering.

Draft a the brewpub. Red / mahogany brown coloured pour with a small fading light tan head. Aroma is nice fresh brewed, woody. Earthy coffee. Flavour is composed of smooth roasted barley, rich earthy coffee, hint of ash and some cakey notes to soften it. Woody. Palate is semi sweet, medium bodied, rounded. Good.really nice the coffee character.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brn/blk with orange glints and a tan head. Aroma is coffee with something suggesting coconut? Med body or nearly. Flavor is coffee, nuts, graham flour, mild whiskey, some oak notes. Seems to thin with time. It’s making me think of English mild. Overall this is an odd experience, but it’s a nice drink.
