Comment:
Too much alcohol in the aroma and flavour, a bit too unbalanced.

Bottle shared at RBScSG in Gothenburg. Pours blackish dark brown with a frothy mocha head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and boozy with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, coffee, chocolate, soil, minerals and boozy bourbon. Taste is sweet and malty. mouthfeel is tiny viscous, slightly sparkling, round, boozy and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and slightly bitter with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, charred wood, coffee, chocolate, liquorice, moist soil and bourbon alcohol. Over the top barrel presence. My girlfriend bought this for me, uh...well, here’s the rest.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a black color with a one finger white foamy appearance that dissipated within a good minute. Light foamy edgy lacing strings around the glass nicely.
The smell starts off with a sweet sticky milk chocolate, and then a light ample amount of dark chocolate. A little bit of fudge runs in with a slight sticky sweet orange pulpiness to balance it out delicately.
The taste was a nice sweet to semi-bitter and somewhat roasty flavor strolling into a sly sticky sweet chocolatey to sweet orange aftertaste. There’s a light sweet to semi-bitter finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping to sessionable sort of feel to it, maybe because it was aged - unsure. If anything, holy wow, what a sessionable sweet smooth feel over my tongue.
Overall, for a Double/Imperial Stout and I know its aged, maybe I just had it at the right time, oh wow, best one ever by Brooklyn. Try a ’14 if you see it!

Bottle 750ml. @ [ DOE - Olfestival Kobenhavn 2015 ] @ Lokomotivvaerkstedet, Otto Busses Vej 5A, 2450 Copenhagen SV, Denmark. [ As Brooklyn Cuvee Noire ].Clear dark red brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, wood, tobacco. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration, roasted, sweet malt, tobacco, citrus - acidic. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. Bottle@Chris and Ruth’s Pre-GBBF 2015, London - pours black with beige head. Dark roasted malty aroma and taste with chocolate, coffee, caramel, burnt dark malty nuances, some vanilla, bourbon infused wooden notes, roasted finish.

Bottle share at Chris & Ruth’s pre- gbbf shindig, 2015. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Nice nose of bonfire toffee, creme caramel and sweet spice. Flavours of toffee, caramel and a whisper of chocolate. Very smooth. Nice.

Bottle at ChrisOs Pre-GBBF. It pours back with a medium tan head. The nose is massive rich vanilla action, quite intense, toffee, coconut, toast, oily and green fruits. The taste is rich, oily, earthy roast, vanilla, toasted coconut, some acidity, coffee burnt caramel and green coconut with a dry, bourbon - driven finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit too much. Intense, yet the body is quite there to carry it. OK anyhow.

Pre GBBF tasting as Chris and Ruth’s. Almost clear amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy and fairly dry. Mild fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, mildly tangy. Mellow bourbon and bourbon fruits. Little spice. Light dry finish. Tastes a bit recessed and tired. Certainly thin for it’s abv. Underwhelming.
