Pours black, good white head. Smell is sharp, bit warm boozyness, as well as a oaky note. Taste is nice, complex and deep. Roasted malts, perfumy, atypical brandy. Not less good though ! rather sweet, very very soft, grainy, a bit boozy. Very nice MF and carbo. Full on,very fruity aftertaste.

Poured from a 2010 bottle. Aroma has moderate chocolate notes with some lighter roast character. Some light tobacco and leather. Light oak notes with a some medium light sherry notes. Some faint umami, soy sauce notes. Medium dark fruit notes with grapes, plums, prunes and dates. Light brandy notes. Pours black with some dark brown hues on the edges with almost no head at all, just some thin, sparse, oily, dark brown bubbles. No lacing and moderate legs. Flavor has a medium light sweetness with a moderate amount of chocolate. Light roast, tobacco and leather. Medium light sherry notes wiht light cardboard and umami notes of oxidation. Moderate dark fruit notes of berry, plum, prune and date. Some light brandy notes and faint oak. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with almost no carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a flat and oxidized eclipse. Lots of dark fruit and chocolate, but only a little brandy and oak. Oxidation doesn?t work great with the brandy notes. This might be my least favorite eclipse to date. 2011 bottle has nice carb and way less oxidation. Nice brandy notes, good chocolate and roast with light dark fruit. Way better mouthfeel. 2010 bottle gets a 3.5, but 2011 gets a 3.9.

21.05.2014, 0,65l bottle (2011 vintage, bottle #2158) @ BBGTC tasting:
Nice light brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is very mild, dark malts, licorice, alcohol, oak, grass, sour coffee, hay, broth, minerals. Taste is slightly sweet grassy, dark sugar, oak, dark malts, alcohol, grass, sour coffee, licorice, hay, minerals. Medium to longlasting bitterness, very smooth - still slightly harsh mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Bottle at Beer Hunters. Opaque black color, small off-white head. Aroma is roasted, brandy, less alcoholic than most in the series. Medium-bodied. Toasted, apple flavors, some earthy notes. Alcohol kick in the aftertaste. Interesting.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of rich black chocolates notes with some light soy sauce notes and quite a bit of residual sugars is different than the other BA Eclipse. Taste is also a good mix between some rich black chocolates notes with some light soy sauce notes with quite a bit of residual sugar notes. Body still has the nice creamy and oily texture with good carbonation. Interesting but I found the sweeter side to his varieties less interesting.

2011 bottle thanks to Elliot. Pours a dark brown with small beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is oak, booze, and chocolate malt. Thin mouthfeel with rich malt and oak with light boozy roast finish. Very good.
