The colour is dark brown. The head is large and dense. The aroma is dominated by licorice and caramel, but there's something musty in the background that is a bit disturbing. You can also find licorice and caramel in the taste, but the hops and the roasted malt soon takes over and give it a shampoo-like character. Black IPA has never been a style I really liked, but this one is quite ok.

12 oz can at Harley and Bucks in Ogden, pours dark brown with dense beige head. Full body, coffee malt aroma. Roasted grain, coffee, licorice taste, and bitter hops coffee finish. Excellent.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent dark brown color is topped by a large rocky tan head. Nice lacing. Interesting roasted malt nose hints at cocoa and licorice. Flavor follows nose with additional notes of earthy, nutty dark chocolate. Bittersweet hoppy finish has a spicy, resiny character. Warming alcohol notes as well.

Tap at City Hospoda, Turku. Opaque black color, small steady off-white head. Sticky burned grassy aroma. Medium-bodied. Ashy and grassy flavour. Burned, restless. Not really classic black ipa. Feels overrated here.
