Brown with a creamy white head. Mild caramel aroma, yeasty black bread. No sign at all of the raisins. No doubt it came a bit too cold out of the garage though. Left to warm up over the course of twenty minutes though a whole new beer emerges: full of toffee sweetness with raisins lingering at the finish. So many raisins that I don’t know how I missed them earlier. A very slight tartness at the end rounds it out. Medium bodied with a moderate to prickly carbonation. A subtle one. I like that.

Bottle @ Mikkeller Bar Aarhus. Pours light hazy brown with a big offwhite head. Aroma is sweet, malty, nutty, dark fruits; raisins, plums, figs. Yeast, caramel. Taste is sweet at first, dark fruits, lots of raisins, yeasty, also some lighter fruits, grape-like sweetness, light bitterness, malty.

750ml bottle. Fantastic, clear, brown-ish, dark ruby colour with average, thick, fluffy-creamy, mostly, lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Minimally bready, dark malty and fruity aroma, notes of dried fruit, raisin, a touch of cherry and plum, ammonia overtones. Taste is slightly dry, fruity, minimally bready, toasty, malty, notes of dried fruit, raisin, a touch of plum and cherry, minimally soapy overtones. Smooth and soft palate, very fine carbonation. Very clean, superbly crafted, but neither overly tasty nor flavourful.
