Pinkish red color. Berry fruit aroma. Sweet and rather sticky berry fruit flavor with just a bit of bitterness. Juice is used ins pite of real fruit, but the flavor is not too artificial. Below medium bodied, sugary. Some fruity sourness. Not too bad.

Bottle at Kulminator. Vintage 2004, 11 years old. Aroma of berry sirup. Taste starts sweet, then gets more sour and maltier. Nice smooth berries. Aging did this beer well.

Dieses Bier wurde auch unter dem Namen "Het Anker Boscoulis" gebraut und ist angeblich nicht mehr erhältlich. Es handelte sich um ein typisches belgisches Fruchtbier, wobei es bessere gibt.

Anker Blond with juices from several kinds of berries. Very thick, creamy, yellowish head and dark ruby brown colour. Cassis dominates the nose, but the brambleberry and blueberry are also present - though I cannot find much else. Same story in the mouth, very sweet and dominated by the cassis, soft sourish accent but not enough to give balance, soft subtle maltiness underneath. As much as I like the Anker ales, top-fermented fruit beers with sweetened juices instead of real fruit will never be my cup of tea - although I have to admit that for this style, it is fairly well-made in comparison with most other comparable products.
