Our Berlin style White is to be served ice-cold and straight up – without syrup, of course! This refreshing sour beer is the perfect companion on a hot summer’s day. Even Napoleon fancied this beer style and called it “Champagne du Nord”. For real Berliners!

On tap at BRLO brewhouse, Berlin, Sunday 25th January 2026 in the company of Nick, Anna, Charlie, Sarah, Ryan and Honey. Had this during a brewery tour and tasting. Pours almost clear yellowy/gold, minimal haze, small white head. Nice aroma, a little citrussy, zippy and zesty. Taste is similar, lemony with a little bit of malt, a low citrus and acidic bite, hints of Tzatziki a gentle tart finish. Score 7.4

Pajiza de no mucha espuma. Aroma acido y citrico. En boca es lo mismo pero más aumentado. Mucho cítrico, limón y lima, que queda en los labios y bastante ácido que sube al paladar. Muy seca, moderadamente amarga. Bien hecha aunque no sea muy fan.

Old rating from 29-04-16 - A 330ml bottle brought back from Berlin. Pours a hazy golden colour with a white head. Aromas of sour fruits, lemon & wheat. Tastes of wheat, lemons & sour fruit leading to a sour medium dry in bitterness aftertaste.

Bottle from Geers.
A: clear golden, quickly thinning, white head.
A: lime, lemon peel, gooseberry, wheat, sourdough.
T: sour gooseberry, apple, lime, wheat, sourdough.
F: tart lime, lemon zest, wheat.
P: light to medium body, slick texture, average carbonation.
It's okay, rudimentary, if you will, in its proximity to the base style, and not much more.

330ml bottle. Clear yellow gold, small white head disappears quickly. Aroma of citrus zest, pale malts, straw. Taste is the same, citrusy notes (lemon mostly), bready pale malts, straw, possibly some cucumber, light-moderate sourness, light acidic finish. Light bodied, moderate carbonation. Nothing mindblowing but it's a decent unfruited Berliner.
