Bouteille 375ml.

I didn’t like this one. Ugly brown colour with large yeast chunks. Smells sweet and wort. Tastes sweet, very dull and a bit watery. Hardly any body, hardly any carbo.

Bottle @ home shared with DutchDrebus. Most disgusting looking beer I’ve ever seen. Brown shit color with an incredible amount of ’things’ floating in it. No head at all. Smell sweet and wort. Bad taste. Watery texture.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Very frothy blond coloured beer. Very dry palate. Slight vanilla tone. A bit watery. Pretty average fare.

Medium offwhite head. Amber body with floaties. Milky papery resiny aroma with honeyish caramelly notes. Dry-sweet tobacco earth and resin taste with vinuous notes. Mild mouthfeel. Light body. Dryish musty earthy toffee aftertaste. Very nice, and definitely not aged too much. (0.375l bottle, shared by Ole_R.)

Originally rated December 2005. Bought this one at the Dépanneur de la Rive in Cap-Rouge, Quebec. Got the Jan van Gent glass for free. The numbers written on the cork are 2.004 and the ones on the metal top are Jan2007. Pours a hazy caramel colour with a fizzy head that dissipates quickly enough. A nice coating is left on the brew though. The nose is fruity with plum, raisin, apples and also some bread and caramel. The mouthfeel is a mix between watery and tarty. Kind of dull actually. The taste is almost rusty with some of that fruit mentioned. Not much aftertaste. My first dissapointing Liefmans brew, but still worth trying... and light for a Belgian brew.
