Bottle from a local supermarket. Aroma is roasted malt with cocoa, chocolate, mocha, and a touch of espresso. Flavour is medium sweet with a solid roasty bitterness. Body is medium. Sure does deliver on the chocolate, with bitter roast. Quite tasty.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Very dark brown colored brew with an dry bitter taste, hints of mocha, roasted malts, lots of dark chocolate and some faint vanilla.

Sample from bottle at Logitech Bierproeverij 8 - 13 dec 2024. As Zaansr Cocoa Porter. Color: Black, brown head. Aroma: Cocoa, roasted malt. Taste: Cocoa, dark chocolate, roasted malt. Just over medium body, just below average carbonation. Mwah.

33cl bottle as “Hoop Zaanse Chocolate Porter” from brewpub Brouwerij Hoop. F: big, tanned, very long lasting. C: black, opaque. A: rich dark malts, cocoa, ash touch, chocolate, roasted tones, coffee, dark fruits. T: medium malty base, chocolate, cocoa, bit ash, coffee, roasted tones, dark fruits, long lasting bitterness, nutty and caramel touch, nice balanced for the style, enjoyed for sure.

Donkerbruin tot zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is zoet en licht bitter met iets van chocolade, wat koffie en een heel klein beetje rook. Heel fijn bier.

13 December 2019. Christmas Beer Evening with the lovely Anke! Pours hazy black with a slowly diminishing, beige head. Aroma of toast, cold coffee, cocoa powder, earth, walnut, clove. Taste has sweetish bread, nuts, quite bitter toast, earth & coffee roast, (dark) chocolatey tones throughout with a spicy back. Dry, toasty, earthy hoppy finish, more chocolate & toast, albeit in a generic way. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. I expected more 'creamy chocolate' in this one but there's definitely sufficient bitterness.

330ml bottle from Albert Heijn. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, caramel, coffee, chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth rich, roasty, slightly oily, liqourice, coffee, chocolate palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
