On tap at Shelton Festival. Pours golden with no head. The aroma is oak, currant, earth, leather, dark fruit. Light body, berry, currant, oak tannins, leather, dry finish, very good.

Pours clear dark gold into a tulip. White head with medium retention recedes to coat surface. Sour cherry and funk aromas. Sour, tart underripe apricot, mango, cherry, raspberry and sour lemon front to back. This is a sour.

375mL bottle drunk 7/21/17.
Deep auburn-mahogany with bright cherry red hues on the edges when held to the light. Deep beige, amber-tinted head, shows good retention for the style.
Nose is a bright but not overly acetic mix of cherry, raisin, tobacco, black pepper, soft oak tannin and vanilla/honey-like malts on the finish. Wonderful clarity to the bright fruit notes and strong Brett character but has a good backbone of acetic/lactic acid as the style dictates. Clean, no alcohol or really anything unwanted for the style here.
Bright, clear and crisp which you don't really get much from this style. Where most are heavily acetic/acidic, heavily tannic and full of caramel and toffee, this leans quite heavily on both brett, vanilla, light oak and strong, vibrant cherry fruitiness. Perfect attenuation/carbonation/texture providing balancing malt sweetness though without any sluggishly heavy caramel. Long fruity, Brett and lacto-laden finish helps cleanse the palate and prepare for the next delicious sip. A great one for sure.
