The lemon combination within the Steeped Emperor’s Lemon Saison highlights intense flavors and aromas that are balanced by the acidity and fruit flavors of the Saison yeast and Sorachi Ace hops. We use a double-steep process to showcase the lemon profile and the resulting Saison highlights flavors of lemon meringue pie with the aromatics of a Meyer lemon.

355ml bottle. Minimally milky, orange, golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Yeasty spicy and bready malty aroma, hints of bread crust, some clove, caraway, mustard seed, a lemon dash. Taste is mildly tart, citrusy fruity, bready malty and slightly yeasty spicy, hints of clove, caraway, lemon peel. Watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. A tad disharmonious, heterogeneous - OK.

@home poured into a tumbler. Sourish nose. Hazy deep amber colour, small moussy head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma lemon, vinegar, green apples, light barnyard. Taste medium sourish, light sweet and slightly bitter, lemony, green apples, mineral notes. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation, lingering sourish and light sweetbitter aftertaste, lemon, earthy and woody notes, refreshing, nice.

Bottle with a rather plain label. Darker hefe looking in the glass. Nose is peppery saison. Taste is lemon forward but then that saison thing immediately starts to kick in. Tart yet overwhelmingly bright with somewhat decent co2. Odd, interesting unique saison attributes all over the place. Peppery fer sher. Decent example of a saison, but could be a little more civilized.

Funky brown and ruby coloured body with a light pink and deep tan head. Aroma of very funky malts, bread, yeast, light hops with some grassy and dry notes around and of course, bunches of lemons and citrus throughout. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong, relatively pungent lemon and dry tea notes dominate with a good malt backbone and some softer hop notes that don't really lead to bitterness, but contribute to the dry flavours. Aftertaste shows the lemon, malt and almost herbal qualities from the dryness on the finish with some hay and pure grassiness at the end along with some hop bitterness. Overall, a fairly nice and very flavourful beer that is highlighted with the malts, tea, dry flavours and of course the lemon and citrus elements, which are seemingly everywhere. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased from Whole Foods in Chicago (Streeterville), Illinois on 24-June-2020 for US$3,00 sampled back in my hotel room here at Chicago O'Hare [airport] in Chicago, Illinois, later in the day on 24-June-2020.

Pour looks like lemon aide with a enormous white head. Aroma is a decent saison yeast ester with some citrus lemon. Flavor is some cracker dry malt with a little ester and just enough citrus lemon. THe lemon is not going to overpower you here, which is fine by me. Decent saison with some yeasty notes and a very minor lemon.
