Bottle courtesy of nimbleprop, thank you! Angry cork but not a gusher. Slightly hazy golden orange color, white head. Aroma of dusty herbs. Taste is funky and peppery. Hi carbonation interferes with the mouthfeel.

Tap at stags head. Murky gold pour white head. Nose is spices and some fruit. Tastes of spicy yeast, blueberry, somewhat boozy, banana, touch of cellar floor. Thick mouthfeel.

750 ml corked and caged bottle from Sparrow - Downtown, 9/11/15
This beer pours a golden-orange color with a large beige colored head and light, drippy lacing. The yeast here is pretty interesting, not the fruitiness that the bottle lead me to expect, but instead more of a spice forward yeast. Some clove, comes through. Light fruit shows up, but it isn't blueberry. Fairly lively carbonation. Fairly dry finish. Not bad, but I've had other Saisons from these guys that I preferred.

At the brewery: So, this bottle is a different batch of the same brew and has B3 Yeast cultured from blueberries, rather than N3 from nectarines. That said, it is also called SY1... it seems like if Transmitter wanted this to be a different beer, they would have called it so; therefore, I am rating it as this beer. OK, well then... on to the beer now. It pours orange with a nice white head. Aroma is a whole lot of banana... almost like a hefe at first. However, there is definitely a saison behind all the banana with the minerally, spicy notes. Taste is at first kind of banana with a strange little boozy note akin to what you would get in a tripel. I kind of think that the aroma is better than the taste. I don’t know if I like it, mostly because of the slightly boozy finish.
